Resolved Question: Question about lyrics in a song "3 From the Flatlands" involving Texas music artists?

It's kind of an obscure song from a band called "Honky Tonk Confidential" called "I Wish You Were From Texas". They are mentioning what they like about Texas, and mention some artists, now the ones they already mentioned (and this is kind of how they appear in the lyrics) are "Buddy Holly, Willie Nelson, Orbison and Wills", and then in another part of the song they mention "George Jones and Waylon Jennings and the three from the flatlands". They mention one other artists when they say "Gene Autry was the king". So my question is, who do they mean by "the three from the flatlands"? I found a email address for the band, if I find out I'll post it here. Thanks guys. I extended the expiration on the question, waiting to see if the band answers it.  more

Resolved Question: Why do you think Country music suck so bad?

I swear this has to be the worst music I've ever heard in my life. I grew up with a family that loved it and now I hate my child hood for it. I've heard most of it: Ricky Scaggs, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, (Possibly the least talented singer ever) Billy Ray Cirus, George Jones, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn. You name them, and most likely I've heard them at some point in my life. Really, I once heard a standup comic say "country is the Special Olympics of music" and I have to agree 100%. I know some are going attack me because of Willie. Hey, he had some meaningful lyrics, but he has no vocal talent at all. If I wanted lyrics with no vocals I'd listen to rap. Not to mention he looks like a toothless homeless guy. There is no "art" to this genre at all. It's even worse now because they try to appeal to more people now and fall flat on their face doing it. Have you seen one of CMT's reality TV shows? Does TV get any worse than that? Anybody else want to give any reasons? Exercise your freedom to choose and shut the hell up." Look at that statement you just made and if you don't see the irony... Well, then you're as dumb as the country music genre. SUCKS??? How old are you,what a childish expression. There are various music genres that everyone dislikes,but don't start ranting and putting them down. I'm sure someone could quite as easily tear your preferences to pieces. Have a tantrum somewhere else" Nice to know people on here have great counter arguements. The Country Music that "suck(?) so bad" is not a nickle worse than the other types of music that is just as bad when it is bad ---- and, the good is just as good !! What you are spouting here is a personal preference BUT you don't give any clue at all as to what type of music that YOU think is THE stuff Odd that you come down so heavy on Willie --- dang near seventy-five and he has more nubile female fans looking to tap his" Any chick that is attracted to wille I wouldn't f*ck with a 10 foot pole. Resolved Question: Do you know the name of this song or singer?

I think it's a country song and the lyrics talk about a guy (that is singing) saying how his girlfriend didn't knew anything about country music so him being a true country boy couldn't take that! I can't recall any full lyrics but at same part he says "She couldn't name any song from Willie Nelson or Johnny Cash, and didn't know who Toby Keith was..." It was something like that, any help?  more
