Resolved Question: What has happened to country music?
Where is Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, men that sang from the heart, when you need them? The only real country music singers are Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. Where are the songs about rodeo, prison, cowboys, and outlaws. Country music is not songs about Myspace or Mr. Mom. When will it change or will it ever? moreResolved Question: Country tattoo joke?
A woman who loved County music decided to get her favorite singers tattooed on each butt cheek. Deciding to surprise her boyfriend, she assumed the doggy style position as they were starting to get intimate and asked him to guess who they were. The boyfriend studied each tattoo and said " Well... I guess the one on the left here is Clint Black ...and the one on the right is Toby Kieth... but who is the one in between them? " " What are you talking about'? she asked. Well, the one in between here with the long beard and bad breath ...I reckon that must be Willie Nelson" . moreResolved Question: Are any self-respecting Country Music fans, a fan of Jessica Simpson?
Some people like her, some people don't; I'm willing to bet the people that do not like Jessica Simpson's version of Country are more attuned to the likes of Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, The Judds, The Mandrel Sisters, Terri Gibbs, Gretchen Wilson and the immortal Patsy Cline. What do you think? Us Magazine Jessica Simpson's first country concert was met with mixed reactions. Audiences booed and clapped as the singer, 28, opened for Sara Evans on Saturday at the Country Thunder USA festival in Randall, Wisconsin. "I don't know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I'm just a girl from Texas," Simpson told the crowd. "I'm just like you. I'm doing what I love and dating a boy." She dedicated the tune "You're My Sunday" to beau Tony Romo, who was in the audience, and performed a slew of covers including Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again" as well as her new single "Come On Over." One concertgoer told the local paper: "I'll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert." Added another: "She's an embarrassment to country music." Not all were haters. One fan told the paper, "I actually like her country songs better. She has a great voice, plus, she's adorable." Despite the lukewarm buzz, her father Joe recently told Usmagazine.com his daughter whose album drops September 9 - is ready for country. "It feels really good," he said of her album. Wot say U?
By WENN world entertainment news - Monday, July 21 Jessica Simpson was met with an icy reception at her live country music debut, with concertgoers booing the star's performance. The singer announced earlier this year her plans to release a country album - despite originally making a name for herself as a pop star. But the 28-year-old failed to impress the crowds at the Country Thunder USA Festival in Randall, Wisconsin on Saturday, where she debuted her new material. She also reportedly sang country covers including Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again" & Shania Twain's "Who's Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" But revellers reportedly heckled her efforts. Simpson's first country album, "Do You Know?", is slated to hit shelves on 9 September. Country music is my least fave music, but the ones I like, I really like a lot. I'm wondering what country music lovers think of my favorites, since I'm much more picky about country music. I like Brooks & Dunn- Neon Moon, K.T. Oslin- Hold Me, George Jones- Radio Lover, Conway Twitty- Don't Cry Joni, That's my job (and more, Conway was the best EVER country singer, I think), Dolly Parton- Little Andy (tear jerker, but I love it), Charlie Daniels- Drinkin my baby goodbye & Devil went down to Georgia, Willie Nelson & Toby Keith- Beer for my horses. This one may prove a little too tricky. I used to be a country fan and a few years ago, I'm guessing anywhere from 2003 to 2005 there was a song on CMT's top 20. I am 95% sure it was and stayed at the number 1 slot for awhile. It was a female singer (maybe a duet with a male). It had that classic country feel too it, like Willie Nelson or Kenny Rogers. I remember the video featured a woman walking down a street and under a street lamp, possibly in black and white. My last clue I may be able to offer is the album name. It was odd, something similar to "Dedicated to the life of ..." or "In remembrance of ..." I recall thinking the womans name in the album title was an older country singer but she may not have been. Thank you for any help or clues :) not Mendocino county line, but thanks so far moreResolved Question: Is Willie Nelson the smartest country singer?

Do u believe what Willie Nelson said in a recent interview... Willie Has 9/11 Conspiracies on His Mind AOL Posted: 2008-02-05 18:12:06 Filed Under: Music News, Viral Video (Feb. 5) - Country music legend Willie Nelson compared the collapse of the World Trade Center to the controlled implosions of casinos in Las Vegas while on nationally syndicated radio this week. While speaking on Alex Jones' Texas-based talk show, a favorite among conspiracy theorists, the "On the Road Again" warbler made it clear he was skeptical of the official account of the events on Sept. 11. "I saw those towers fall and I've seen an implosion in Las Vegas," he said. "There was too much similarity between the two. And I saw a building fall that didn't get hit by nothing." "The day it happened, I saw one fall and it was just so symmetrical," Nelson said on the show. "I said, 'Wait a minute, I just saw that last week at the casino in Las Vegas', and you see these implosions all the time, and the next one fell and I said, 'Hell, there's another one.' They're trying to tell me that an airplane did it and I can't go along with that." moreResolved Question: If they weren't country singers #1?

While with the band,I wanted a record deal, but record executives felt I sounded too similar to Ray Price to be marketable. This artist is a Legend in Honky Tonk music, He was born in 1935 in Houston Tx. When he started his music career he devoted it to western swing and the likes of Bob Wills,Hank Thompson, Earnest Tubb and Lefty Frizzell. In 1963 he joined Ray Price as the drummer. Another familiar face you would have seen at that time on stage with him would have been Willie Nelson. He is still running up and down the interstate doing what he does best and shows no sign of slowing down. One of the greatest singers to ever come outta Texas in my book and a great song writer to boot. moreResolved Question: Why do you think Country music suck so bad?
I swear this has to be the worst music I've ever heard in my life. I grew up with a family that loved it and now I hate my child hood for it. I've heard most of it: Ricky Scaggs, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, (Possibly the least talented singer ever) Billy Ray Cirus, George Jones, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn. You name them, and most likely I've heard them at some point in my life. Really, I once heard a standup comic say "country is the Special Olympics of music" and I have to agree 100%. I know some are going attack me because of Willie. Hey, he had some meaningful lyrics, but he has no vocal talent at all. If I wanted lyrics with no vocals I'd listen to rap. Not to mention he looks like a toothless homeless guy. There is no "art" to this genre at all. It's even worse now because they try to appeal to more people now and fall flat on their face doing it. Have you seen one of CMT's reality TV shows? Does TV get any worse than that? Anybody else want to give any reasons? Exercise your freedom to choose and shut the hell up." Look at that statement you just made and if you don't see the irony... Well, then you're as dumb as the country music genre. SUCKS??? How old are you, what a childish expression. There are various music genres that everyone dislikes, but don't start ranting and putting them down. I'm sure someone could quite as easily tear your preferences to pieces. Have a tantrum somewhere else" Nice to know people on here have great counter arguements. The Country Music that "suck(?) so bad" is not a nickle worse than the other types of music that is just as bad when it is bad ---- and, the good is just as good !! What you are spouting here is a personal preference BUT you don't give any clue at all as to what type of music that YOU think is THE stuff Odd that you come down so heavy on Willie --- dang near seventy-five and he has more nubile female fans looking to tap his" Any chick that is attracted to wille I wouldn't f*ck with a 10 foot pole. Please state why you selected those 16 artists. Here's my list. Deceased Artists: Hank Williams--he was pure raw Country Lefty Frizzell--he was one of the greatest Tommy Collins (for obvious reasons) Waylon Jennings--I want to say goodbye to him Ernest Tubb-he was so nice and friendly Patsy Cline--the greatest female classic country singer Jim Reeves--I just want to hear that velvet voice Marty Robbins--to see him entertain again Living Artists: Merle Haggard--I can't get enough of The Hag George Jones-- I'm ready for some good soulful singing Bobby Bare--I want to hear some funny stories Dolly Parton--two good reasons--nuff said Tom T. Hall-to hear some story songs Ray Price-- just so I could dance once again Willie Nelson--what's a show without Willie Hank Thompson--that western swing So far some great choices. I was going to have people list 20 but I ran out of characters hence only 16. I really wish that we could place this order. I have! Like one time on "The Love Boat" series in the 70's/80's, Florence Henderson (yeah..."Mrs. Brady") sang Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again"...it was just AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, it was waaaaaaay worse than AWFUL! There;s no words to tell you how totally bad it was!!!!!!!!!! And in the grocery store recently, I heard on their satellite radio station, a woman singing "Rose Garden" and it WASN'T Lynn Anderson! I figured it's a modern version by one of these current "country" singers. It sucked big time! And lastly, I love Conway Twitty's singing, but even he slaughtered a song once... his version of "Danny Boy" made me want to cry...for all the wrong reasons! When will the singers stick to the genre and sing it right?
This also has comments on American Idol and the country genre this week. Only 2 of the 7 contestants sang the country songs in the way they were meant to be sung. It disappointed me from the judges that they gave praise to someone that sang it more like an R&B song, but complained that one singer sang through his nose (duh, that's what made Willie Nelson famous). At least he was trying to be country. Finally, Sanjaya just plain sang his song bad...not only was it off-rhythm and off-key but he tried to make it "jazzy" and thought that the bandana would help him get votes. moreResolved Question: can you tell me if willie nelson the country is still living?
